61 Mrs. Owen asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will approve an application for a grant towards the provision of a child centre in Mostar, former Yugoslavia, which has been submitted by the organisation, Cradle, which has been working towards the reconstruction and renewal of a multi-ethnic Bosnia-Hercegovina.
Officials of my Department had a meeting with representatives of Cradle on Wednesday, 20 April. At this meeting Cradle outlined their activities in Mostar. My officials gave details of the application procedures and requirements for funding under the Government's official aid programme. The representatives of Cradle indicated that they would submit detailed proposals for interventions in Mostar including a proposal for funding of a child care centre in west Mostar. When these applications are received they will be evaluated in line with our standard criteria.
