Vol. 442 No. 1

Written Answers. - New Ross (Wexford) School.

Question:

95 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Education the progress to date and date of payment of moneys announced by her for St. Mary's School, Irishtown, New Ross, County Wexford; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

In December, 1993 a grant of £100,000 was allocated to St. Mary's School, Irishtown, New Ross, County Wexford towards the cost of the provision of a sports hall under my Department's sports capital programme.

The terms and conditions of the scheme for payment of the grant have been met by the school authorities with the exception of the contract procedures for selection of a contractor on exchequer funded capital projects. Information received from the school authorities on these outstanding issues is under consideration and my Department will shortly be in contact with the school authorities with a view to payment of the grant.
