Question:

152 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education the number of students at third level colleges; the number in receipt of European social fund grants; the number in receipt of other third level grants; and the number who do not receive any grant.

The most recent statistics available in respect of students in third level colleges relates to the 1992-93 academic year. The number of full-time students at third level colleges in the 1992-93 academic year was 81,034. This figure does not include students in non-aided institutions for which complete figures are not available.

The number of students in receipt of grant aid was as follows in the 1992-93 academic year.
