Vol. 443 No. 1

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Connaughton — the refusal of payment under the ewe hogget headage scheme in the case of person (details supplied) in County Galway who was deemed ineligible for the scheme as he had failed to enter the relevant figure on the application form; (2) Deputy Mitchell Kitt — when grants will be approved and sanction given to commence work on the Cappataggle group water scheme, Ballinasloe, County Galway; (3) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the increase in the use of bed and breakfast accommodation for homeless children in the Eastern and other Health Board areas; (4) Deputy Owen — the action the Government proposes to take to assist in bringing to an end the horrific slaughter in Rwanda where over half a million people are reported to have been killed in a two-month period; (5) Deputy Deenihan — the serious difficulties facing Irish exporters especially in the food industry because of the stronger punt; and the action the Government intends to take to protect exporters if this trend continues; (6) Deputy Enda Kenny — the delay in the provision of phase II facilities at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, County Mayo, which is causing serious concern to a great number of people.

The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected for discussion: Deputy Owen, Deputy Deenihan, Deputy Michael Kitt and Deputy Enda Kenny.
