Vol. 443 No. 1

Written Answers. - 1974 Dublin-Monaghan Bombings.

Tony Gregory

Question:

48 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance if he recently met with the relatives of the victims of the 1974 Dublin/Monaghan bombings; and if he will make funds available for a more fitting memorial to the memory of those who died.

In my capacity as TD for Dublin Central, I did meet recently with some of the relatives of the victims of the above bombings. However, with regard to funding for a memorial, this issue falls outside my area of competence as Minister for Finance and should more correctly be addressed to my colleague the Minister for the Environment in the first instance.
