Vol. 443 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tendering Procedures.

Mary Harney

Question:

68 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if his attention has been drawn to the tendering procedures which are currently in operation in a number of Irish businesses and institutions; and the plans, if any, he has to ensure a fairer system is followed.

I am not aware of any particular difficulties with tendering procedures generally. However, it is in the overall interests of Irish business that tendering procedures should not operate to restrict firms from competing for contracts or restrict the benefits that can be gained from competitive tendering.
