Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

126 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to meet a deputation from Donegal County Council and promoters of the Ballymagroarty-Lismenton group water scheme to finalise when the work will commence on this scheme.

I have arranged that a representative of my Department will shortly meet with Donegal County Council to consider the adaptation of the Ballymagroarty source to supply the proposed Lismenton group scheme.

Jim Higgins

Question:

127 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has to sanction and make finance available for a sewerage scheme (details supplied) in County Galway.

Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made in this case.

Enda Kenny

Question:

128 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of subscribers to the Dooyork/Meedoran group water supply scheme, County Mayo; when the scheme was initiated; the length of water main needed; the cost of the scheme; the amount of money already subscribed towards the scheme; when further progress will be made towards the scheme; when further progress will be made towards the implementation of the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Dooyork/Meedoran group water scheme will serve 35 houses and associated farms at an estimated cost of £87,000. The scheme will require approximately 6,600 metres of water main. Design data and plans were received in my Department in 1991.

I intend to approve grants for this scheme shortly, subject to satisfactory arrangements regarding the group's contributions.
