Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Enda Kenny

Question:

130 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when sheep headage grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named applied under the 1993 ewe premium scheme for payment on 488 sheep. He had a quota of 198 and payment was made in respect of that number. However, an application form to transfer his mother's quota of 221 has now been issued to him. When this form is completed and returned to my Department payment of premium in respect of this additional quota will be considered.

The applications of the person named for premia under the 1993 suckler cow scheme, January 1993 special beef scheme, June 1993 special beef scheme and November 1993 special beef scheme are being processed at present and any payments due will be made in the near future.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

132 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid his suckler cow grant for 21 cows.

The person named was informed on 23 June 1993 that he was ruled out of the suckler cow premium scheme for 1992 and 1993 as my Department was not satisfied that the cows he had applied for were in his ownership and possession at date of application. No appeal or correspondence has been received from the person named in response to that letter.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

133 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid his grant for land improvement; and if he will make a statement as to when he will make funds available for the payment of such grants.

Having regard to the level of claims currently on hands, I expect that payment will be made within the next few weeks.
