Vol. 443 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Targets.

Richard Bruton

Question:

157 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health the targets, if any, he has set out for the number of weeks of respite care, home-help and public health nurse attention for persons who are providing full-time care to a seriously incapacitated person; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

One of the targets outlined in the four-year action plan which was included with the recently published health strategy is the strengthening of the role of the general practitioner, the public health nurse, the home-help and other primary care professionals in supporting older people and their carers who live at home.
