Question:43 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for Health the administrative costs of the VHI for each of the years from 1986 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - VHI Administrative Costs.
I am arranging to have circulated in the Official Report a table which sets out the information requested by the Deputy. On average, administrative costs represent no more than 6.5 per cent of VHI subscription income. I am advised by the VHI that their administration cost ratio is the lowest of any health insurance fund.
