Question:107 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Health his views on whether the Tierney manpower report will be adopted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The report to which the Deputy refers was drafted by a collaborative study group representative of my Department, Comhairle na nOspidéal and the Post-graduate Medical and Dental Board and has been circulated, as a discussion document, to all agencies with an interest in the subject of medical manpower. A large number of responses have been received to date and I have asked the group to examine these and make further recommendations. Any further action by me at this stage in respect of the report would be premature.
