Vol. 443 No. 4

Written Answers. - Clinical Psychologist Assessment.

Robert Molloy

Question:

180 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that parents of a severely handicapped child (details supplied) in County Sligo have been unable to have an educational psychologist's assessment carried out in the North-Western Health Board area.

I understand that the child in question has been assessed on a number of occasions since 1990, by two clinical psychologists employed by the North Western Health Board. It would not be appropriate to give further details of this person's case in response to the Deputy's question. I will communicate the details of the case separately to the Deputy.
