Question:208 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to introduce free third level education as was promised by her predecessor prior to the last general election.
Written Answers. - Free Third Level Education.
I have no plans at present to introduce free third level education which would involve additional expenditure of about £45 million per annum.
In line with the commitment in the Programme for a Partnership Government I will seek to improve the student support provisions to ensure that no student is deprived of access to third level education because of financial circumstances.
