Question:18 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to grant full university status to the National College of Art and Design; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - University Status.
I invited the board of the NCAD late in 1993 to prepare proposals for the longer term development of the college. In that context I understand that proposals for the future institutional basis of the college have arisen.
I also understand that the college authorities are at present examining certain options in that regard and have been in contact with TCD, UCD and DCU.
I will give full and careful consideration to any proposals which may be submitted to me by the board of the college.
