178 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications when a report regarding the helicopter crash in Dingle, County Kerry, will be made public; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
This accident is being investigated by an inspector of accidents appointed by my predecessor under the Air Navigation (Investigation of Accidents) Regulations, 1957. It is a statutory requirement that such investigations be conducted in private. When the inspector of accidents submits his report on this accident, I shall consider it with a view to publication.
