The conditions governing the nomination of persons for appointment as officers of the Reserve of Officers (An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil) are set out in paragraph 26 of Defence Force Regulations R.5, a copy of which is available in the Library of the Houses of the Oireachtas. One of the requirements is that persons must be recommended by an interview board established by the General Officer Commanding the Command.
