Vol. 444 No. 2

Written Answers. - Rosslare (Wexford) Property Disposal.

Hugh Byrne

Question:

21 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Finance the progress made to date by the Office of Public Works in relation to the Ailsa Lodge site at Rosslare Harbour, County Wexford in view of the fact that the Chief State Solicitor's office has completed its work on the matter; when the necessary paperwork was returned to the Office of Public Works; the progress made to date by the Office of Public Works in processing the sale of the site; the progress to date on work to ameliorate the present untoward state of the site, as promised to Deputy Hugh Byrne in a previous parliamentary question; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Completed contract documentation for the sale of the property in question was received by the Commissioners of Public Works from the Chief State Solicitor in mid-April 1994. Tenders, due for receipt not later than 10 June 1994, were sought by the commissioners by public advertisement in late May. After due consideration, a tender was accepted yesterday.

The commissioners' local officer has arranged for the execution of general tidying up works to the site; it is understood that these works have now been completed.
