Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Declan Bree

Question:

32 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the remaining payment of suckler cow grant and the extensification grant from 1993 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed and the balance due will issue shortly. Payment of extensification premium is ongoing and if the person named is found eligible, after all his 1993 applications have been processed, he will be paid in the near future.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

33 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when an extensification grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

Extensification premium is payable to people whose stocking density is less than 1.40 livestock units per hectare. As the stocking density of the person named for 1993 was 1.41 livestock units, no extensification premium is payable.

Tony Killeen

Question:

34 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the non-payment of 1992 headage, suckler cow and sheep premia to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and if he will ensure that payment is made in this case.

The person named applied for the 1992 cattle headage, suckler cow and ewe premium schemes. He is not eligible for payment of 1992 cattle headage grant and suckler cow premium because he failed to present his animals for inspection as required under the terms and conditions of both schemes, despite being notified twice to do so. Under the 1992 ewe premium scheme the person named was deemed ineligible for payment as he was unable to prove to the satisfaction of the Department that he had in his possession on the date of application the number of sheep on which he claimed premium.

Avril Doyle

Question:

35 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if, in view of his reply to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 144 and 145 of Tuesday, 14 June 1994, he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who has been put on a stop list and deemed ineligible for two years for inconsistent age declarations for four cattle out of 30 for the 22 month beef premium following a genuine mistake made by his daughter who filled in the application.

I am arranging to have this case reviewed.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

36 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his 22 month beef premium for which he applied in January 1993.

I have made arrangements for payment of the January-February 1993, 22 month special beef premium to be made to the person named within the next week.

Enda Kenny

Question:

37 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a sheep headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

My Department has no record of having received an application for 1993 sheep headage grants from the person concerned. He applied under the 1993 ewe premium scheme for premium on 65 sheep and will be paid in the near future.

Enda Kenny

Question:

38 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the remainder of a cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named was paid the balance of £304.11 due under the 1993 cattle headage scheme on 28 April 1994. He has also been paid the total amount of £1,265.44 due under the 1993 suckler cow scheme. He did not apply under the 1993 special beef premium schemes. Payment of 1993 extensification premium is ongoing and if eligible he will be paid shortly.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

39 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the final premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named applied under the 1993 ewe premium scheme for payment on 49 sheep. He had a quota of 25 rights and payment was made in respect of that number. However, he was allocated 23 additional quota rights from the national reserve and arrangements are being made to have the additional premium paid in the near future.
