Vol. 444 No. 2

Written Answers. - Scheduled Air Flights.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

50 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if any consideration is being given to the establishment of scheduled air flights between Carrickfinn Airport and Dublin; if his attention has been drawn to the potential benefit of such a service to a peripheral area like Donegal; the preparatory work, if any, that has been done to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The establishment of scheduled air flights between Carrickfinn Airport and Dublin is being considered in the context of the introduction of the essential air services programme for Ireland. The current position is that the call for tender advertisement has been finalised with the EU Commission and will be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities shortly.
