Question:44 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the latest position on Leader II; and when this programme will be introduced.
Written Answers. - Leader II Programme.
In the next week I shall be placing advertisements in the national papers inviting applications for Leader II.
As in the case of Leader I, applicant groups will be required to submit a business plan for the development of their areas.
In view of the time required to prepare and submit business plans, evaluate them and then select the successful groups, implementation of Leader II will begin towards the end of this year or early 1995.
