157 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if she will offer funds from the proceeds of the national lottery to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in respect of the costs involved in the forthcoming amateur international darts tournament; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
My Department operates a scheme whereby grants are paid to national governing bodies of sport to assist towards the cost of Irish teams participating in major international competition. If an application is submitted by the Irish National Darts Association in respect of the event in question it will receive careful consideration in the sport section of my Department.
