Vol. 445 No. 8

Written Answers. - Career Development.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

155 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she will give a breakdown of the allocation of the inservice budget for 1995 under the headings name of inservice supplier, amount allocated, numbers of teachers to benefit and types of projects. [1293/94]

The Estimates allocations for 1995 have not yet been determined. My Department has established two advisory committees at primary and post-primary levels respectively which include representation from the Department, school management and teacher interests, and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment and the National Council for Vocational Awards, as appropriate, to advise on overall policy and priority in-career development needs. The priority needs for 1995 will be determined following a consultative process, and in the light of the implementation plans for reforms of the primary and second level curricula.
