79 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if she will make financial provision in the 1995 Estimates for new conventional school buildings for Gael Scoil Raifteirí, County Mayo. [1069/94]

Enda Kenny

Question:

120 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction a new school building in respect of the all-Irish school, Scoil Raifteirí, in Castlebar, County Mayo; if she will meet a deputation from the management board and interested parents in respect of this school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [505/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 48, 79 and 120 together.

My Department accepts the need for the provision of new permanent accommodation to meet the long term requirements of the school referred to by the Deputies. A decision on the extent of the permanent accommodation to be provided has yet to be made and in this context my Department's officials would be pleased to meet representatives of the school management.

Although the number of projects which will be considered for grant aid in 1995 cannot yet be determined, my Department is drawing up a list of priority projects for consideration. The application from the school in question will be one of those to be considered for the new priority listing.

In regard to accommodation for the remedial teacher, my Department is considering this matter and will convey a decision to the school management in the very near future.
