Written Answers. - Extension of Ombudsman's Remit.
I have no plans at present to extend the remit of the Ombudsman's Office in order to include the Legal Aid Board. Unless I became aware of significant levels of dissatisfaction among clients with the existing redress mechanisms, I would not see any need to consider seriously including the board within the ambit of the Ombudsman. I am not aware that any such difficulty exists.
