Vol. 447 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Cork School Staff.

Richard Bruton

Question:

324 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education whether her Department will pay for a substitute secretary in a school (details supplied) in County Cork where the present secretary is going on maternity leave. [2991/94]

There is no provision for the temporary replacement of a school secretary on maternity leave under the terms of the scheme under which such secretaries are employed. Consequently I am not in a position to facilitate the school in question.

The position in relation to this scheme is similar to that which applies to other clerical staff in public and local authorities.
