Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Mayo Land Registry Application.

Michael Ring

Question:

215 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice the present position in relation to an application to the Land Registry for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; the reason for the delay in releasing the relevant documentation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1296/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application in question refers to a conversion of title from possessory to absolute. In the course of investigating the title as held by the registered owner, it became apparent that there were discrepancies in the areas and map references on the Land Commission Vesting Order and Resale map or on the Land Registry map or both. These discrepancies have been taken up with the Land Commission and a reply is awaited.

I am further informed that the delay arose because the original Land Commission Vesting Order could not be located in the Land Registry. Following extensive search procedures the Vesting Order has been located in the Records Branch of the Land Commission where it had been inadvertently misfiled.
