238 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the names of all unestablished civil servants appointed since 15 December 1994, including programme managers, special advisers and other staff; and the salaries, duties and terms of appointment of these appointees. [1465/95]

The information in relation to my own office and those of the two Ministers of State at my Department is as follows:

In addition, two Civilian Drivers have been employed, each in receipt of a salary of £247.74 p.w.

The terms of appointment of the above staff are set out in standard contracts which are prepared by the Department of Finance for issue by individual Departments.

The duties of a Programme Manager relate to the implementation of the Programme for Government which involves liaising with departmental officials and Programme Managers in other Departments. The Special Adviser is involved in the provision of advice and assistance to the Minister for Labour Affairs. The Personal Secretaries and Personal Assistant are involved in the performance of general secretarial duties including duties relating to the handling of inquiries made to the offices.

In addition to the staff mentioned above, one cleaner has been appointed to the staff of my Department and is in receipt of a salary of £175.84 p.w. The standard terms of appointment for non-established civil servants apply and the duties relate to general cleaning in the Department.
