Question:

74 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance the arrangements, if any, he has made for the completion of the new Garda Barracks in Drogheda, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1334/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 73 and 74 together.

Having satisfied themselves that the firm appointed for the erection of a new Garda Station in Drogheda was in default of the contract, the Commissioners of Public Works have determined the contract.

An Insurance Bond, for the purpose of protecting the Commissioners, is in place and the options for completion are being examined as a matter of urgency in consultation with the bonding company.
