85 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Education the consultations, if any, she has had with COSPÓIR or other State and voluntary sporting bodies with a view to drawing up a code of practice for the reporting of sexual abuse of children and for the vetting of sports coaches; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Minister of State in my Department with special responsibility for youth and sport is in consultation with Cospóir regarding the most effective means of dealing with and preventing abuse of children and young people in sport.
The appropriate State and voluntary bodies will be fully consulted in the preparation of any code of practice or initiative that may be drawn up.
