Vol. 448 No. 2

Written Answers. - Safety Statements.

Michael Bell

Question:

139 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence the number and location of FCA and Slua Muirí units and subunits that still require safety statements to be prepared having regard to the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 138 of 2 November 1994; whether the individual members of the Reserve have ready access to such statements; their participation in statement preparation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1740/95]

I am informed by the military authorities that safety statements are now in place in all units-sub-units of the FCA and An Slua Muirí with the exception of the FCA unit at Ballymullen Barracks, Tralee, where it is expected that a safety statement will shortly be in place. Members of the FCA and An Slua Muirí have ready access to safety statements and any views which they may express in regard to health, safety and welfare matters are given full consideration.
