Vol. 448 No. 3

Written Answers. - Milk Quotas.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

196 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the implications for small scale milk producers in non-disadvantaged areas with the ring fencing of milk quotas in disadvantaged areas under which milk is being redistributed under the restructuring scheme; and if he will consider applications for such producers under 20,000 gallons quota on the same basis as producers in the disadvantaged area. [1921/95]

I am presently considering the conditions which will apply for the resale of milk quota under the 1995 Milk Quota Restructuring Scheme. In this context I will have regard to the effects of the measure as it was applied in 1994. It is also my intention to consult the Milk Quota Review Group on the categories to which they recommend priority be given in this year's scheme.
