Vol. 448 No. 3

Written Answers. - Kilbarrack (Dublin) Dart Station.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

109 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide funding in the environment budget for 1995 for additional sums to refurbish and reconstruct the structures at Kilbarrack Dart Station, Dublin 13. [1986/95]

I understand that refurbishment measures proposed at Kilbarrack Dart Station include the construction of a pedestrian bridge over the railway line linking Briarfield Road and Grove Park Crescent. Dublin Corporation applied to my Department in October 1993 for funding for the project and was informed that, as the bridge was intended to facilitate pedestrian movements between two local roads, it would be a matter for the corporation to finance its construction from its own resources, supplemented by the discretionary block grant from the Department. This continues to be the position. I will notify the corporation of its 1995 block grant allocation shortly.

I have no function in relation to other proposed improvements to the Dart station itself.
