Vol. 448 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cork National Schools.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

112 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the building of, or extensions to schools (details supplied) in Cork. [2236/95]

The 1995 capital programme for national schools is being finalised at present. I can confirm that projects at the three national schools mentioned by the Deputy are being considered for inclusion.

My Department will be in touch with the school authorities in the near future.

In regard to the second-level school in question, the vocational education committee has been authorised to provide prefabricated accommodation on a rented site and planning permission has been sought. I understand that there has been an objection to the granting of planning permission and a decision is awaited from An Bord Pleanála.
