Written Answers. - Cleaner Technologies Incentives.
The clean production measure included in the Operational Programme for Environmental Services, 1994-99, is designed to encourage a clean production ethos throughout the industrial and services sectors. This measure will support actions with sectoral relevance or demonstration value, including demonstration of technologies for emissions reduction and of appropriate cleaner technologies.
The provision of specific incentives to encourage greater use of cleaner technology by industry is primarily a matter for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment and the industrial development agencies in the context of industrial policy generally.
