184 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education her specific responsibility within the Department; and the specific responsibilities of the two Ministers of State assigned to her Department. [2834/95]
The specific responsibilities of the Minister for Education are as laid down in the Ministers and Secretaries Act of 1924. These responsibilities comprise of the administration and business generally of public services in connection with Education, including primary, secondary and university education, vocational and technical training and all the powers, duties and functions connected with the same.
With regard to the Ministers of State assigned to the Department of Education, the functions delegated to Deputy Allen are as follows: youth affairs, sport, recreational facilities, school transport, special Adjournment debates on Education other than debates on major policy issues, Private Members' Business on education matters other than major issues.
