Vol. 448 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Printing.

Peadar Clohessy

Question:

25 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for Justice her views on whether there is any danger of a security lapse in view of the revelation that typesetting is done in Arbour Hill for printing for the Department of Justice; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2822/95]

Some printing work for the Department is carried out at Arbour Hill Prison, Wheatfield Place of Detention and St. Patrick's Institution as part of the worktraining programme for offenders. The work by the prisoners involves the printing of blank forms and other documents for internal use, house magazines and so on. Offenders are not involved in the printing of sensitive material. I am satisfied that current practices are not a security risk.
