43 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the problem affecting the Monasterevan water system Monasterevan, County Kildare, which is causing hardship to the residents in the area; when he will provide the necessary funding to have the matter resolved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Contract documents for this scheme are under consideration in my Department. Pending completion of the assessment of overall local authority requirements in 1995, in the context of available grant resources, I cannot indicate when it may be possible to approve the proposal.
