Question:

59 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Defence if he will have arrangements made for approval to issue to the "C" company of the 9 Infantry Battalion of the FCA in County Kilkenny to avail of St. Mary's Hall, Old Presentation Convent, Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, for training and general purposes in view of the proposal submitted to his Department from army headquarters. The premises referred to were leased by my Department from March 1991 to December 1993 for use by the FCA. My Department understands that following the ending of the lease the owners have been reviewing the future use of the premises. It is understood that the premises have now become available for rental again and the possibility of securing a further lease is being considered.
