Vol. 449 No. 1

Written Answers. - Kilbarrack (Dublin) Drug Dealing.

Seán Kenny

Question:

161 Mr. S. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice the measures, if any, she will take to stop the drug dealing which takes place openly in the precincts of Swansnest Court flat complex, Kilbarrack, Dublin 5. [3230/95]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a number of arrests have been made for offences under the Misuse of Drugs Acts at the location in question in the past 12 months. In addition, searches for drugs have been carried out at the complex. While enforcement of the drug laws is the responsibility of all gardaí, a district drugs unit, with four full-time members, has been established to deal specifically with the drugs problem in the area.
