Question:21 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will make resources available to the Land Commission to enable it speed up the process of division of commonage. [2426/95]

While it is not possible in the short term to increase the number of staff assigned to this area, improved computer facilities were put in place recently.
In the context of my overall policy of improving services to the farming community, ongoing examinations will be carried out in this area with a view to further their improvement.
This service is provided free of charge by my Department. It is, of course, open to shareholders to privately engage the technical and legal expertise necessary to divide their commonage.
