Vol. 449 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

84 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his Department will pay forestry grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.[3523/95]

Arrangements are being made to inspect the applicant's plantation with a view to payment of the second instalment grant.

Liam Aylward

Question:

85 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to have suckler cow quota granted to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny whose application has been submitted to the local office of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3524/95]

The EU Regulations provide for suckler cow premium quotas to be based on the number of cows on which a producer was paid suckler cow premium in 1992.

The person named has no suckler cow premium quota because he did not apply for premium in that year.

I will be announcing the criteria for the allocation of suckler cow premium quota from the 1994 national reserve shortly following which application forms will be available. I have arranged to have an application form sent to the person concerned.
