Vol. 449 No. 4

Written Answers - Cancer Incidence.

Declan Bree

Question:

80 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Health if any study has been initiated in the Tubbercurry, Cloonacool and Coolaney areas of County Sligo to identify the reasons for the increased incidence of cancer. [3705/95]

Limerick East): I am advised by the North-Western Health Board that no such study has been initiated there. The board has also pointed out that the scientific collection of data of this nature on a small area basis is a very long drawn out process over a long period of years and, in scientific terms, is not all that reliable.
