Vol. 449 No. 5

Written Answers. - Seat Belt Regulations.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

95 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Justice the number of prosecutions that have taken place for breaches of the seat belt regulations and the regulation prohibiting passengers under 12 years of age in the front passenger seat of vehicles in each of the years 1990 to 1994. [4089/95]

I refer the Deputy to my reply yesterday to a question on the number of prosecutions for breaches of the seat belt regulations. There is no regulation prohibiting passengers under 12 years of age from occupying the front passenger seat of a vehicle.
