Question:

20 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the main areas of responsibility of the Minister of State to the Tánaiste. [2627/95]

Apart from her role in the Department of Enterprise and Employment Deputy Eithne Fitzgerald is Minister of State at the office of the Tánaiste and is responsible for all the functions of the office.

The Office advises me on all Government policy matters. In addition, the Minister of State has particular responsibility for the current legislative brief of the Office, covering both the Ethics in Public Office Bill and preparation of a Freedom of Information Bill. She also represents the Government on the National Economic and Social Forum.
