Vol. 449 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cancer Incidence.

Denis Foley

Question:

15 Mr. Foley asked the Minister for Health the extent, if any, to which the incidence of cancer is related to particular areas in the country; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4592/95]

Limerick East): National data on cancer incidence is not, at present, available to my Department. However, the National Cancer Registry Board has been established to collect such data, and collection on a national basis began in 1994. The board will be carrying out detailed analysis of this data on a county-by-county basis and the results for 1994 will be available to my Department in 1996.
