Vol. 449 No. 8

Written Answers. - Boyle Drainage Scheme.

John Ellis

Question:

64 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Finance if his Department will include in the Boyle river catchment drainage scheme the drain which was discussed with a number of farmers at Ballaghadereen on the 6 February 1995, known as the county drain at Lisserlough, Boyle, County Sligo. [4659/95]

The drain referred to is known locally as the county boundary drain and borders counties Roscommon and Sligo. It is not part of the Boyle catchment drainage scheme having been omitted at design stage on economic grounds. There are no plans at this stage to extend the scheme which is scheduled for completion later this year.
