55 Mr. P. Gallagher (Donegal South West) asked the Minister for the Environment the county road grant allocations to Donegal County Council for each of the years since 1983: and the council's contribution for each year during the same period. [5674/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 53 and 55 together.

Grant payments for non-national roads are not subdivided on the basis of road categories. Subject to this, grants paid to Donegal and Roscommon County Councils for non-national roads in the years 1983-1984 were as follows:—

Total Grant Payments for Non-National Roads

£

£

1983

Details of grant payments in the years 1985-1993 are set out in the reply to Question No. 72 of 24 May 1994 and in 1994, in the reply to Question No. 101 of 31 January 1995. Details of this year's allocations are set out in my Department's booklet1995 Non-National Road Grants Allocations, a copy of which has been placed in the Oireachtas Library.
Information on expenditure on non-national roads financed by Donegal and Roscommon County Councils from their own resources in the years 1983-1992 is contained in the annual Statistical Abstracts published by the Central Statistics Office.
