Vol. 450 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ministerial Functions.

Pat the Cope Gallagher

Question:

168 Mr. P. Gallagher (Donegal South West) asked the Minister for Social Welfare the functions delegated to each Minister of State at his Department; and the date on which the functions were delegated in each case. [5821/95]

The functions delegated to the Minister of State at my Department, Deputy Bernard J. Durkan, since his appointment are as follows: the integration of the tax and social welfare systems, proposals for which are being developed by a non-statutory working group which was established in 1993 and is due to report later this year. This working group has also been requested to prepare proposals for the child benefit supplement and the Minister is also responsible for the Department's customer information programme in line with the commitments in the Programme for a Government of Renewal.
