Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Control of Dogs.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

130 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the recurring problem of out of control dogs roaming in rural areas during the lambing season; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6352/95]

The statutory position is that the control of dogs is provided for under the Control of Dogs Act, 1986, which is administered by the Department of the Environment and which provides for stiff penalties for negligent dog owners.
