Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Birth Certificate Reregistration.

John Ellis

Question:

55 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Health if he will request his Department to fulfil the commitment given in his written reply to Parliamentary Question No. 82 of 1 March 1995, regarding the reregistration of a birth certificate for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [6373/95]

Limerick East): The administration of the registration system is a matter for An t-Árd Chláraitheoir (Registrar-General) of Births and Deaths and for local registrars who operate under his general direction. I am informed by An t-Árd Chláraitheoir that the re-registration of the birth referred to by the Deputy has been effected and that a certified copy of the new birth entry has been sent by the General Register Office to the person concerned.
